Originated in france knife sharpening has been around for thousands of years and has never lost its need & charm & rightly so . Though it migrated from France,India has embraced it as its own & now is embeded in our culture.

We might use different words like Chakuwala, Churiwala, Saanehidiyadu but the sentiments remain the same as we progress into modern Indian, knife sharpening is losing its battle to cheaps, we use & throw (if we may). We fear that soon knife sharpening will only be nostalgic and hence the inception of CHAKU.

Every time we talk to hear about a knife we picture a man pedaling fly away and a sharp knife is ready for its journey.
